The Fredonia Lynx waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 31-22 victory over Grand Canyon. That's another feather in the cap for Fredonia, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Fredonia can attribute much of their success to Lexie Heaton, who scored 12 points. Nevaeh Benson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Grand Canyon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaemie Jensen, who scored six points along with eight steals. Jensen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellanina Nanacasia, who scored nine points.
Fredonia is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Grand Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
Fredonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grand Canyon also has no future games currently scheduled.
