After flying high against Grand Prairie  two weeks ago, Martin came back down to earth. The Martin Warriors fell  34-24 to the Bowie Volunteers on Friday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Volunteers apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in November of 2023.
  Hunter Squires threw for 74 yards  on nine of 17 attempts.  
 Brooks Brigance was his top target, rushing for 72 yards, while also picking up 32 receiving yards.
 It was another big night for  Larry Nichols, who rushed for 95 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 200 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes for Bowie. Bowie also got a significant boost from  Darrion Bowers, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 179 yards.
 Martin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Bowie, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
 Martin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  56-49  loss against Haltom on the 18th. Bowie has also  already played their next match,  a  48-21  victory against Arlington on the 18th.
