The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Plains/Healy in their matchups with Northern Valley: they've now lost seven in a row.
Northern Valley was led to victory by Drew Schemper and Kenton Thalheim. Schemper dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Thalheim scored 25 points along with five steals. Thalheim hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Nolan Kinderknecht was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight assists.
Western Plains/Healy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Northern Valley, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Western Plains/Healy will square off against Weskan at 3:33 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northern Valley, they will square off against Wheatland-Grinnell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheatland-Grinnell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Northern Valley is ranked 72nd).
