The North County Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by Broadneck 64-13. North County has not had much luck with Broadneck recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Mackenzie Wharton was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Broadneck. Wharton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Ginger Kerdock was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists.
North County dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.1 points per game. As for Broadneck, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North County will square off against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (Northeast is ranked 234th, while North County is ranked 215th). As for Broadneck, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
