The Utica Redskins will face off against the Heath Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Utica came up short against Newark Catholic and fell 3-1. While the Redskins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Green Wave 25-21 in the first set.
Utica started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-14.
Meanwhile, Heath also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to River View by a score of 3-1. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Black Bears 25-15 in the first set.
Heath started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-23.
Utica will have to contain Adrianne Pethtel as she made an impact in Heath's last game. She had 20 digs and two aces.
Heath's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Utica, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.
Utica came out on top in a nail-biter against Heath when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
