The Jefferson County Tigers will be playing at home against the Wesson Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Two weeks ago, Jefferson County came up short against South Pike and fell 30-22.
Despite the loss, Jefferson County had strong showings from Jabari Watson, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown, and Royale Shelvy, who picked up 133 receiving yards and a touchdown. Shelvy's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards.
Meanwhile, Wesson put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past South Pike 42-20. The result was nothing new for Wesson, who have now won seven matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for O'mari Johnson, who rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Deshawn Smith was another key contributor, rushing for 107 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Wesson, their victory was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Jefferson County strolled past Wesson when the teams last played back in October of 2016 by a score of 48-34. Does Jefferson County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wesson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
