Independence won the last time they faced Chambers and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars an 11-0 shutout. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Anthony Mosher was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Holden Flitcraft, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Independence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Independence now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Chambers, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Independence will take on Ardrey Kell at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chambers, they will face off against North Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
