Football Recap: David City Skates Past Madison with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask David City). They blew past the Madison Dragons, posting a 64-30 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead David City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cohen Denker, who rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 67 yards and a pair of TDs. Judd Nickolite was another key receiver, picking up 110 receiving yards and three scores.

David City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Nickolite.

Madison's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bodonn Sweeney, who rushed for 186 yards and one touchdown, and Izac Zautke, who picked up 68 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. With that strong performance, Sweeney is now averaging an impressive 104.7 rushing yards per game.

The win was the third in a row for David City, bringing their record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points over those games. As for Madison, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

David City has already played their next contest, a 78-30 win against Humphrey-Lindsay on the 10th. As for Madison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 52-26 victory against Twin River on the 10th.
