University hasn't had much luck against Timber Creek recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will take on the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
University not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Evans.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: University took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-10.

University relied on the efforts of Josiah Hernandez, who had eight digs and six aces, and Logan Calderon, who had 27 assists. Those six aces gave Hernandez a new career-high.
They weren't the only good server: University was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in four consecutive matches.
Timber Creek extended their winning streak to 20 games thanks to a huge performance from Chase Jordan. The Wolves came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Lake Howell for which the team can thank Jordan, who had 25 assists and eight digs. He has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last five times he's played.
Timber Creek was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-102), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 15-12.
University's record now sits at 3-11. As for Timber Creek, they pushed their record up to 20-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
University suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Timber Creek when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
