The Rocket City Falcons entered their tilt with the Evangel Christian Lightning with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Rocket City enjoyed a cozy 56-40 victory over Evangel Christian on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rocket City also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Rocket City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MacKenzie Baker, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth ( Bess ) Shea, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Rocket City has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Evangel Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.
Rocket City will head out on the road to face off against Tennessee Heat at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Evangel Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Brooklane Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Brooklane Baptist will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while Evangel Christian is ranked 193rd).
