The Ribault Trojans won the last time they faced the Raines Vikings, and things went their way on Saturday too. Ribault came out on top against Raines by a score of 60-49. Given Ribault's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Raines is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ribault's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leniya Greene, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Massey, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Ribault and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Raines, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.
Ribault will be home for the holidays to greet Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Paxon School For Advanced Studies is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Raines will take on Menendez in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at. Menendez's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Raines' offense will have their work cut out for Raines.
