Heppner will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Santiam at 7:00 PM. Heppner are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one.
Heppner had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They took a serious blow against Clatskanie last Friday, falling 0-46. Heppner were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-40.
Meanwhile, Santiam had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They took the game and then some with a 52-6 victory. They were heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why.
Santiam's win lifted them to 1-0 while Heppner's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Santiam can add another positive mark to their record or if Heppner can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Santiam's step.
