The Monterey Dores will square off against the Everett Alvarez Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Monterey will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Monterey's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Palma 11-0. The Dores might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

03/04/25 @ Pacific Grove | 3 |
03/11/24 vs Carmel | 3 |

Ella Myers was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Monterey got a massive performance out of Denae Lee, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Lee has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ryanna Elliott, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Everett Alvarez unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Salinas, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this match were averaging 4.09 runs allowed.
Monterey pushed their record up to 17-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Everett Alvarez, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Monterey has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Everett Alvarez struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Monterey was able to grind out a solid victory over Everett Alvarez in their previous meeting back in April, winning 4-0. Do the Dores have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
