Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Grace Christian hadn't done well against GRACE Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Grace Christian Crusaders came out on top in a nail-biter against the GRACE Christian Eagles, sneaking past 73-70. Winning may never get old, but the Crusaders sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Grace Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Jones, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. Jones' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Zimmerman, who went 7 for 12 en route to 17 points.

When it comes to explaining why GRACE Christian lost, don't look at Michael Phillips II. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 35 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave Phillips II a new career-high in rebounds. Malachi Tate was another key player, putting up nine points and five assists.

Grace Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for GRACE Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-17.

Grace Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 73 points per game this season.
