Itasca extended their winning streak to six on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 16-3 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 20-11 margin over the Venus Bulldogs. The Wampus Cats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Itasca got a massive performance out of Caden Littlejohn, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs Littlejohn has posted since back in April of 2024. Dustin Baker also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Itasca hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Venus struck out ten times.
As for Venus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.
On Venus' side, Cashton Klein made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Klein is becoming a predictor of the Bulldogs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 7-14 when he doesn't). Koby Henrich was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As of now, neither Itasca nor Venus have any future games scheduled.
