The Elliot Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 63-52 to Turlock Christian. Elliot Christian has not had much luck with Turlock Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Elliot Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayden Gaither, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Seth Byrd, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Turlock Christian had a senior duo take command as Raphael Babba scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals and Ben Bylsma scored 23 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Miller, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Elliot Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Turlock Christian, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elliot Christian will challenge Big Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Big Valley Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests. Turlock Christian on the road again on Thursday and play against Venture Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Venture Academy will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
