Softball Recap: Grosse Pointe South Takes a Loss

Grosse Pointe South dropped their record down to 25-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Lake Shore Shorians by a score of 7-6. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Shorians earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

As for Lake Shore, they moved to 11-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 14th.

For Lake Shore's part, Sara Augustitus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on 13 hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Kendra Damm was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI. Makayla Blumenschein was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Grosse Pointe South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Shore, they will face off against Lakeview at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
