Cornerstone Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down McDade 48-33. Given Cornerstone Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while McDade is ranked 1241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McDade lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alexis Pacheco, who scored ten points. Pacheco is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lauren Glosson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Cornerstone Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for McDade, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Texas Wind at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. McDade will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dime Box at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
