The Calhoun Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Hannan Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calhoun has six straight wins, Hannan has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
A well-balanced attack led Calhoun over Paden City in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Calhoun blew Paden City out of the water with a 70-39 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Calhoun had established a 27 point advantage.
Landon Bennett was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Calhoun's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Marks, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Hannan took a serious blow against Calvary Baptist Academy on Tuesday, falling 78-34. Hannan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.
Calhoun pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.3 points. As for Hannan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Calhoun didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hannan in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory. Will Calhoun repeat their success, or does Hannan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
