The Ridgecroft Rams put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 50-40 victory over Albemarle School. Given Ridgecroft's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Albemarle School is ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ridgecroft's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Slaughter, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Chamblee, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Madelyn Delosreyes and Addison Delosreyes certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Delosreyes scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Delosreyes scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Delosreyes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.
Ridgecroft's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Albemarle School, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Ridgecroft will head out on the road to square off against Pungo Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Albemarle School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Currituck County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
