It was a good run, but the Jackson Aggies unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Saturday. Their rough 68-47 loss to Harrison Central might stick with them for a while.
Despite the defeat, Jackson had strong showings from Angel Powell, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and Jazmine Jones, who scored 15 points. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyra Caves, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Harrison Central, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Jackson will be playing in front of their home fans against Leroy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Harrison Central is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Presbyterian Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Presbyterian Christian is ranked 20th, while Harrison Central is ranked 21st).
