East Lawrence came into Saturday's contest having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Russellville Golden Tigers on Saturday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

East Lawrence's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Russellville, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Eastside v. Westside when East Lawrence and West Morgan meet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Russellville, they will take on Haleyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Russellville is facing Haleyville at the right time seeing as Haleyville is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
