The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Roxana with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 63-48. The win was familiar territory for Mt. Carmel who now have 12 in a row.
Mt. Carmel was led to victory by Asher Kight and Blayne Sisson. Kight gained 230 total yards and four touchdowns, while Sisson rushed for 315 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Sisson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Despite the loss, Roxana still got an impressive performance from Evan Wells, who rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Wells' longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Terrel Graves also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Mt. Carmel's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.8 points. As for Roxana, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-1.
Mt. Carmel will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Byron at 4:00 p.m. on November 24th. Byron is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Roxana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
