The Taylor County Bulldogs lost against the Godby Cougars back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Taylor County had to suffer through a rough 75-34 loss at the hands of Godby. Taylor County has not had much luck with Godby recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Taylor County still got an impressive performance from LeeAsia Johnson, who scored 17 points. That was a full 50% of Taylor County's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
It was another big night for Cristina Brown, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds for Godby. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Cornelius, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Taylor County's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Godby, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor County will take on Jefferson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Godby, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Leon at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Leon is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
