The Bishop Lynch Friars will head out on the road to face off against the Prestonwood Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bishop Lynch has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Prestonwood Christian will arrive with four straight victories.
Last Friday, Bishop Lynch was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 10-6 to Trinity Christian.
The team lost despite holding Trinity Christian to a paltry no rushing yards and no passing yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bishop Lynch's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Drew Richardson and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Prestonwood Christian over Nolan Catholic in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Prestonwood Christian blew Nolan Catholic out of the water with a 70-12 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-12.
Caiden Collins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 282 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Collins' longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards. Another player making a difference was Kellen Tasby, who threw for 227 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.
Prestonwood Christian's win bumped their season record to 5-2 while Bishop Lynch's defeat dropped theirs to 1-7.
Bishop Lynch took a serious blow against Prestonwood Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 57-17. Thankfully for Bishop Lynch, Aj Sibley (who rushed for 294 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
