The Desert Mountain Wolves struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Paradise Valley Trojans had 1800% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Desert Mountain was outmatched by Paradise Valley on the road and fell 50-16. Desert Mountain has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Desert Mountain's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adyson Lundberg, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds. Lundberg is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Bailey Smith was another key contributor, scoring 2 points.
Paradise Valley was led to victory by Neha Patel and Emilee Resendez. Patel scored 21 points along with 3 steals, while Resendez dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was Resendez's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savana Blazina, who scored 9 points.
Desert Mountain now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Paradise Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Desert Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Saguaro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saguaro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Desert Mountain in Arizona (Saguaro is ranked 29th, while Desert Mountain is ranked 162nd). As for Paradise Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shadow Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shadow Mountain is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
