Even though the Uniontown Red Raiders scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, the Baldwin Highlanders still came out on top. Baldwin walked away with a 65-55 victory over Uniontown. The win made it back-to-back wins for Baldwin.
Uniontown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being K'Adrian McLee, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that McLee scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamire Braxton, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Baldwin has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Uniontown, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-2.
Baldwin will head out on the road to face off against Canon-McMillan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canon-McMillan and Baldwin are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Uniontown, Uniontown and Belle Vernon will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Belle Vernon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Uniontown likes a good challenge.
