Make it nine blowout wins for the Madison Trojans this season. They claimed a resounding 67-36 victory over Village Tech at home. The win was nothing new for Madison as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Madison's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Phillip Thomas, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Brandon Reece, Jr was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Village Tech saw an underclassman step up: Jacori Cathey scored 11 points.
Madison's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Village Tech, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.
Madison will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Village Tech, they will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A Plus Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
