It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Foothill had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 12-7 win over the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Camren VanThomme was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. VanThomme was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Hailey Gilbertson was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Julie Stanton was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Foothill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
