Even though the Jackson Day Mariners scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Sugar Creek Wildcats still came out on top. Sugar Creek snuck past Jackson Day with a 59-55 win. For Sugar Creek, this counts as revenge for the 64-50 defeat Jackson Day walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2020.
Sugar Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ajaylon Ingram- Moore, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ingram- Moore continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Terry Watson, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Sugar Creek's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Jackson Day, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sugar Creek will take on Greater Cabarrus S at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson Day will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Providence Classical at 12:00 p.m. on December 11th.
