The Lecanto Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Cypress Creek Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lecanto is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
It was a proper cat-fight when Lecanto faced off against Dunnellon on Monday. Lecanto took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dunnellon.

Dylan Czerwinski was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Wilson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, while it was Cypress Creek who put the first points on the board on Tuesday, it was River Ridge who put up more. Cypress Creek fell just short of River Ridge by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Coyotes have lost by just one run.
Cypress Creek also got a good showing from Colton Burrmann, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burrmann has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Everett Burgess made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Cypress Creek's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Andrew Farriss was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Even though they lost, Cypress Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. This was only their first loss (out of four games) when they post 11 or more hits.
This is the second loss in a row for Cypress Creek and nudges their season record down to 7-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Lecanto, their record now sits at 4-13.
Lecanto was able to grind out a solid victory over Cypress Creek when the teams last played on March 6th, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lecanto since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
