The Vallejo Redhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Del Norte Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vallejo is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Vallejo never let their opponents score. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 49-0 win over Richmond. Given Vallejo's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Richmond is ranked 994th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vallejo can attribute much of their success to Sedrick Vaughn, who picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Vaughn was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Jasier Smith, who threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Del Norte unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 22-12 to Fortuna.
Vallejo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Del Norte, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
