The North Polars won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by Two Rivers 57-23. North was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Two Rivers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Two Rivers got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elayna Vannett out in front who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Gabi Kirchner was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
North has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Two Rivers, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
North will be playing in front of their home fans against South St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Two Rivers, they will head out on the road to square off against Hastings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hastings is coming into the game with three straight defeats at home, meaning Two Rivers will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
