Dallas extended the longest winning streak in Wyoming Valley 3A this week by beating Tunkhannock, 60-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
James M. Coughlin moved up to 233 from 267 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Crusaders climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Berwick 34-7.
Pittston's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. James Emmett threw for 108 and one touchdown and Joe Starinsky had 74 yards receiving. On the ground Kyle Gattusso chipped in 38 yards. Jordan Houseman helped Pittston's passing attack out by catching three balls for 24 yards.
The Patriots' Emmett and Starinsky have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Emmett has thrown for 930 yards this season, while Starinsky, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 32 catches for 601 yards. Zac Evans from James M. Coughlin leads the league in rushing with 1385 yards.
A big matchup in Wyoming Valley 3A this week will be when Crestwood takes on Ciro Cinti's team. As it stands, the Comets are in second, while the Crusaders are in fourth.
