The Olive Branch Conquistadors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 49-27 loss at the hands of South Panola. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Olive Branch in their matchups with South Panola: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Olive Branch still got an impressive performance from Ethan Bobo, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 139 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jerry Wall III, who gained 118 total yards and a touchdown.
Olive Branch's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for South Panola, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olive Branch will square off against Lake Cormorant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Panola, they will head out on the road to face off against Grenada at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grenada is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
