Monday just wasn't the day for the Irvington Vikings's offense. They suffered a rough 6-0 defeat at the hands of Moreau Catholic on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Irvington of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Irvington dropped their record down to 5-9-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored zero goals over those three contests. As for Moreau Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-3.
Irvington didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 1-1 draw vs. American on the 7th. Moreau Catholic has also already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against James Logan on the 7th.
