Ridgeview Global Studies Academy was dealt a 88-30 defeat at the hands of Discovery. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-17.
When it comes to explaining why Ridgeview Global Studies Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chrsitian Sanchez. Despite the final result, he scored nine points.
Discovery's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trevin West led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. West continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Malcom Smith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists and five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Discovery, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy on the road again on Monday and play against Four Corners at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. One thing working in Four Corners' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Discovery, they will head out on the road to square off against Poinciana at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
