The Evergreen Park Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Shepard Astros at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evergreen Park is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Evergreen Park got the win against Argo by a conclusive 33-7. The result was nothing new for Evergreen Park, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Evergreen Park's success was spearheaded by the efforts of David Johnson, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns, and Jedidiah Adjayi, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Keshaun Lee got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Shepard's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They snuck past Oak Lawn with a 21-17 victory.
Evergreen Park's victory pushed their record up to 6-2, while Shepard's bumped their own up to the opposite: 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Evergreen Park against Shepard in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 41-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evergreen Park since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
