Basketball Recap: Hamilton County Beats Carterville for Their Eighth Straight Win

Hamilton County entered their tilt with Carterville on Monday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They were the clear victor by a 64-38 margin over the Carterville Lions. The Foxes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Hamilton County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylah Parkhill, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 15 points and three steals. What's more, Parkhill also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Annabell Woodrow, who went 6-for-8 en route to 16 points.

Hamilton County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up six more assists than Carterville's also-impressive total of 11.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maya Toliver, who posted nine points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Toliver now owns an excellent 45% shooting accuracy. Lyla Seaman was another key player, putting up five points and four steals.

Hamilton County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Carterville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.

Hamilton County has already played their next game, a 51-43 victory against Fairfield on the 12th. As for Carterville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-34 win against Goreville on the 12th.
