After a string of three wins, Steeleville's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Maryville Christian Lions by a score of 2-1.

Steeleville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-20, 25-19.

Brooklynn Thien was nothing short of spectacular for Maryville Christian: she had 28 digs. Those 28 digs gave Thien a new career-high.

Steeleville's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Maryville Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-7.

Looking ahead, Steeleville will host Cobden at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maryville Christian, they will square off against Wesclin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
