Palm Desert is 8-2 against Xavier Prep since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Palm Desert Aztecs will head out on the road to face off against the Xavier Prep Saints at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Palm Desert is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Xavier Prep in California (Palm Desert is ranked 244th, while Xavier Prep is ranked 1120th).
Last Friday, everything went Palm Desert's way against Central as Palm Desert made off with a 73-51 victory. The victory was just what Palm Desert needed coming off of a 67-45 loss in their prior game.
Palm Desert got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Coby Christensen out in front who scored 21 points. Reid Gorman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Xavier Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Capistrano Valley Christian 82-45.
Palm Desert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Xavier Prep, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Palm Desert was able to grind out a solid win over Xavier Prep in their previous matchup back in January, winning 57-50. Will Palm Desert repeat their success, or does Xavier Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
