Monte Vista Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominic Pierini, who threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.3% of his passes. Pierini hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Nico Downie did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why St. Francis lost, one person who can't be blamed is Javier Darosa-Fonseca. Despite the final result, he rushed for 33 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Pedro Ibarra was another key contributor, picking up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Monte Vista Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for St. Francis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
