The Midway/Minto Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Midway/Minto will be strutting in after a victory while Drayton/Valley-Edinburg will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Monday, Midway/Minto didn't have too much trouble with Cavalier on the road as they won 47-28. The win was just what Midway/Minto needed coming off of a 76-33 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Drayton/Valley-Edinburg came up short against North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] on Monday and fell 44-37. Drayton/Valley-Edinburg has not had much luck with North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Drayton/Valley-Edinburg got a solid performance out of Brooke Gullickson, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Easton Larson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
Midway/Minto's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Drayton/Valley-Edinburg, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Midway/Minto came out on top in a nail-biter against Drayton/Valley-Edinburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 53-50. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Drayton/Valley-Edinburg's Hailey Berg, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Midway/Minto still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
