Constantine let Jozee Buglione and Meah Evans run wild. Buglione went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Evans went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Evans a new career-high.
Constantine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gobles challenged Marcellus on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Wildcats 12-4. Considering the Tigers have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Daisy Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Jackson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gobles got a big performance out of Makenna Hunt, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Rosie Bowman was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
The win keeps Gobles at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average this season. As for Constantine, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Constantine has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .525. However, it's not like Gobles struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
