Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Roosevelt ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Garfield 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Roughriders have posted since March 27th.
Perrie Ausk spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elliot Walker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Holy Names Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Roosevelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Holy Names Academy might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Roosevelt in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can Holy Names Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
