The Beddingfield Bruins have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 46-45 to J.H. Rose.
Several Bruins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayonta Blanchard, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taevon Edwards, who scored nine points.
It was another big night for Malachi Green, who scored 20 points along with two steals and two blocks for J.H. Rose. Green is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Keyes, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Beddingfield's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-3. As for J.H. Rose, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beddingfield will challenge Goldsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Goldsboro will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for J.H. Rose, they will head out on the road to face off against Havelock at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
