Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Polk County should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will look to defend their home turf against Pisgah at 7:30 PM. Polk County are limping into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Polk County came up short against East Henderson, falling 13-20. Polk County got a solid performance out of senior Mitchell Yoder, who picked up 114 yards on the ground; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
After's a string of four wins, Pisgah's good fortune finally ran out. They suffered a grim 7-41 defeat to Greeneville. Pisgah were down by 0-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Pisgah's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Polk County defensive front that amassed four sacks against East Henderson, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
