Make it nine blowout wins for the Clinton Red Devils this season. They took their contest at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 52-8 victory over Woodruff. The victory was familiar territory for Clinton who now have five in a row.
Bryanna Belton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Zakalia Redd was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Woodruff struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Clinton's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Woodruff, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will challenge Emerald at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Emerald is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Woodruff's road trip will continue as they head out to face Union County at 6:15 p.m. on January 19th. Union County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
