The Chiawana Riverhawks entered their tilt with the Walla Walla Blue Devils with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Chiawana took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 37-0 victory over Walla Walla. Considering Chiawana has won five matchups by more than 36 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Julian Martinez threw for 92 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Justin Webber was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Chiawana's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.2 points per game. As for Walla Walla, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chiawana will square off against Moses Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Moses Lake is ranked 11th, while Chiawana is ranked 20th). As for Walla Walla, they will head out on the road to face off against Cheney at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheney comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
