Even though the Crown Point Panthers scored an imposing 60 points on Thursday, the Whitehall Railroaders still came out on top. Whitehall managed a 66-60 win over Crown Point. This was payback for Whitehall, who suffered a 61-54 loss the last time these two teams met.
Crown Point's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevor Harris, who scored 25 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Alex Stone, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Whitehall's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Crown Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Whitehall will be playing in front of their home fans against Ticonderoga at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Crown Point, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Ann at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
